HAND in Hand Mobile Study 1.4.1

HAND in Hand utilizes Apple's ResearchKit to facilitate participation in a study investigating HIV Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND). This condition can arise when HIV infiltrates the nervous system, negatively impacting the health of nerve cells. The BrainBaseline cognitive testing platform collaborates with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, aiming to enhance research on HAND while providing participants with insights into how their activities and behaviors may influence neurocognitive health.

Throughout the study, the app will collect three categories of information:

1. Health information will be gathered and recorded via your device’s Health app.
2. Participants will complete a series of short surveys to gather essential demographic and lifestyle data relevant to the study.
3. Weekly BrainBaseline assessments will be required to monitor cognitive function across the duration of the study.

The data collected through the app will assist researchers in deepening their understanding of HIV and the lifestyle factors affecting individuals living with the virus. Participation is encouraged as it combines survey, assessment, and health data, contributing to a greater comprehension of this disease and its cognitive implications for affected individuals.
